FAMILY PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT WORKER - Full Time
We are looking for an experienced participation worker to support families to seek the truth and feel empowered to hold others to account and become self-advocates for systemic change. The primary role of the post is twofold: To enhance, strengthen and develop family input and involvement into INQUEST’s work and strategic development and ensure families are at the heart of our work; To strengthen and develop support and guidance for the families we work with and their family members.
The Casework Assistant will work within the INQUEST Casework Team (currently 5 Caseworkers). They will support the Team and assist across a wide range of inquest cases and other related activities. This will include research, drafting notes and correspondence, answering the phone and registering new cases, data entry, general administrative tasks and occasionally attending inquests.
COMMUNICATIONS AND POLICY INTERN
We are looking to recruit a paid intern, initially for a six-month placement, to support our communications and policy functions. Managed by the Communications & Policy Officer, the intern will support her with various administration and research tasks. You will also be answering the media telephone line. This is a really exciting opportunity to get involved in cutting edge work, including working on high profile campaigns and lobbying involving the national media, parliamentarians and senior policy makers. Supported by the entire INQUEST team, you will be able to learn key communications and research skills, such as researching on key cases and issues, and learning to write press releases and handling an organisation’s social media.
The ideal candidate would be politically engaged, eager to contribute to the work and goals of the INQUEST team, organised, focused and keen to learn on the job. Beyond traditional qualifications and work experience, applications should also include voluntary and community work, and other engagement with politics and activism.
