This inquest has been adjourned.

This is a media release by Imran Khan and Partners, reshared by INQUEST.

Imran Khan and Partners acts for the family of Soviya Rajaratnam, a 19 year old who died in September 2021 after she absconded on escorted leave while she was detained under section 2 of the Mental Health Act 1983 at Royal Bethlem Hospital.

Soviya was known to a network of professionals in the local area at Kingston Social Services and the South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS Trust for a number of years prior to her death.

This inquest will be heard by a jury at the South London Coroner's Court in Croydon from 18-27 November 2024.
