Deborah Coles, Co-Director of INQUEST, the organisation that assists the families of those that die in custody said;

"Corton Vale is now the suicide capital of the Scottish prison system. Its grim toll of despair, 5 deaths in 15 months is an indictment of the prison regime and conditions and begs questions as to whether suicide prevention and medical care is given any priority at all. How many more young women will die before a full and open inquiry is conducted?"
